Gunnison Valley Theatre Festival

For this logo, Western Colorado University's theatre company asked for a design that was slightly theatric and also embodies Western Colorado University and the Gunnison Valley. My concept included a scene of Western's outdoor stage on campus where the festival is intended to take place, with a spotlight coming from the sky shining down onto the stage. Gunnison is very hilly, with myriad pine trees and the stars shine as bright as disco balls at night, so I wanted to include them into the rest of the scene. I picked a typeface that reminded me of old theatre advertisements- bold but with personality. This concept won their 2021 logo contest and will be used for their inaugural Theatre Festival in June 2021.
